A Material Management and Accounting System governs how contractors plan, purchase, receive, store, issue, and account for direct materials used on U.S. Government contracts. Under the DoD Business Systems Rule, MMAS is one of six critical business systems that must remain adequate and compliant. A disapproved system may result in payment withholds across affected contracts.
